Putting this floor sign that reads, “Fire Reel Hose Do Not Block” on the area in front of your fire hose can help to protect the facility and actually save lives. Many companies have fire reel houses throughout the facility to ensure that people will have access to the fire hoses when they are needed. Without this type of floor sign, however, people may be tempted to block the way by parking forklifts or other vehicles, or even just putting boxes or other items down in the area.
If people can’t get to the hose when there is an emergency it will do very little good in protecting the facility. While this floor sign is extremely simple, it is also a very effective way to prevent people from blocking the area directly in front of the fire reel hose so that it will always be available when it is needed.
