PCB (Polychlorinated biphenyl) Signs
Mark toxic areas and restrict
access with PCB visual signage.
Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) is a highly toxic chemical that at one point was commonly used as an insulating fluid in electrical equipment like transformers in power plants, industrial plants, and telecommunications and utility lines. As of 1979, this chemical was banned in the United States, but it still remains present in products and materials made before the initial PCB production ban. From old industrial transformers to outdated appliances still using PCB capacitors, this carcinogenic chemical can be found and used to this day. It’s important to keep areas that regularly release harmful PCBs marked, in an effort to restrict access and limit PCB exposure.
